Compared to 3 other torches i own with comparable brightness, the Lumintrek is 800 lumens as advertised (not sure why some other reviewers think this is NOT an 800 lumens light). The external diameter of the battery cylinder is plumber than other similar torches. This makes it more comfortable to hold. Its possible to sit the flashlight upright pointing towards ceiling. The hexagon bezel is a nice touch to stop the light for rolling when laid on its side on a sloping surface.

The sliding switch to vary the brightness works pretty well. Only downside is that changing the brightness to the lowest setting is fiddly requiring a very gentle touch to the sliding switch.
