Civia Flat Fenders Aluminum 700c x 35mm Anodized Black Review
These fenders are pretty cool with their low profile, and I really like the way they look on my bike. I bought two sets. The first set (which is silver) is nearly twice as wide as the other set (which is black). Obviously one is designed to work with 29" mountain bike tires, and one is for road bike type tires. It is also true that due to the low profile flat design they are not at all as stiff as normal curved profile fenders, and they do sort of vibrate a bit when riding. This is not an issue on my bike, but your mileage may vary. Finally, the clip which holds the rear fender to the seat-tube-cross-piece on the frame was not long enough. This is because it was designed for road bikes and not the cyclocross bikes I installed the fenders on. This required me to fabricate an extension in order to correctly install the fenders. The kit should include two lengths of that clip. The big issue as I said before is how wide are the fenders? The seller really needs to note the width of the fenders in the listing. When that happens I will change my star rating to 4 stars.
Update:
After 10 months of riding (approx. 750 miles) the part of the fender which sticks forward of the fork just fell off. This is directly related to the vibration/clanging/floppyness issues which nearly everyone has mentioned. The unsupported front section shook so much that it was actually bending the metal of the fender back and forth until it fatigued and fell off. The rear fender, and the rest of the front fender are entirely unaffected, and no longer make any noise/rattle.
