Power Systems Non-Bounce Medicine Ball (10-Pounds, Red) Review

I ordered the purple 30lb version. 30lbs is nice entry weight that serves a variety of fitness levels. It is a bit heavy for doing a lot of extended arm work and some other core exercises, but is great for slamming and throwing. Using it in a crossfit circuit with battling ropes and kettlebells where it really is a worthy addition.

It is about the size of a womens basketball. The cover is textured rubber and it feels like it is filled with sand. The rubber itself feels a bit heavier duty then a kick ball and it is joined by a single seem around the equator of the ball. Like a basketball there is a small rubber plug for inserting air if desired, although the instructions tell you not to. No issues gripping it when sweating due to the texturing. When thrown or slammed it doesn't bounce really even in the slightest which is as advertised.

I got mine mostly for throwing and slamming it. Despite the fact that the model on the main page appears to be slamming it, slamming and throwing are not among any of the pictured exercises mentioned in the instructions. That being said I think it should hold up well to those exercises and I will try and update at some point on how well it is doing. I am leaving it in our work weight room so it should get plenty of use and abuse.
