I use this jacket more then I expected, and for more activities then expected. It is great as a lightweight shell, has good protection for its weight. It packs down small, into it's own pocket. Being a lightweight shell, it isn't the most water resistant or wind resistant jacket. Still, I put some water repellant on it to start with and have yet to get any feeling of water soaking through. The only thing I don't like about the shell is the pockets. The chest pocket is good, but the back pocket can be awkward to use. I've put things in the pocket and then sat down, sometimes forgetting something is back there.
