I have bought Yoder's canned meats in the past and came across this. It's a little cheaper than Yoder's right now, so I decided to give it a shot.

The hamburger is basic ground beef salt seasoned. Upon opening the can, the fat content of the meat is obvious. There is some congealed fat in the can, but that is to be expected since the meats are cooked and cooled in the can. After draining the liquid, I tried it out. It tasted like eating room temperature roast to me. Reminded me of eating my mom's left over roast as a kid. I put the hamburger in a skillet to make sure most of the fat was cooked off. It was a good idea, took about 15 minutes on low-medium heat to cook off the rest of the fat. It wasn't a large amount, but more than I wanted for what I was fixing. If you are in a situation where extra calories are desired, then the fat that's still in the meat would be ok.

I used it for beef in spaghetti sauce. Seems like it tasted a little different from fresh ground beef, but not bad at all, it may just have been because of the added salt. I don't add salt when I cook. This is finely ground. If you find yourself in a situation where fresh ground beef is not an option, then this is a great alternative.

The beef is essentially the same as the hamburger except it's in chunks. Put it in a pot after draining it and added barbecue sauce. Tasted great.

I will update this review after I have tried the chicken.
